Maze, the labyrinth: the place we enter every time we prepare for a Kinbaku session when we explore what lies within us and within the person being tied. Often, we enter it hand in hand, to explore it, to understand it. Sometimes it’s frightening, other times it’s simply too overwhelming to face. It’s a different place for each of us—something volatile, dynamic, changing as we move through it.
During Chamber: Maze, we will try to navigate this inner labyrinth, observing its most evident features and uncovering its hidden ones. This will be done through a structured series of lessons that break down and analyze the dynamics of a traditional Kinbaku session as interpreted by Kinkyphilia.
Particular emphasis will be placed on communication and traditional Japanese aesthetics, focusing on the following aspects:
• From Japan to the West
• Historical evolution of traditional elements
• Ichigo Ichie
• Consent and negotiation vs. trust and responsibility
• Communication patterns
• Seiza: Why we don’t tie standing up
• Intention, progression, finalization
• Time, Space, and Rhythm of a session
• 3D analysis of a session
Feelings such as shame, torment, melancholy, resignation, and surrender will be explored and analyzed.
WHO IS IT FOR?
This course is designed for those who have already started studying bondage. The basic requirement is to have attended the Kinbaku Essentia course (our "0" module) or a basic course. The organization reserves the right to admit participants who have not taken the basic course but can demonstrate a good level in the required prerequisites (double-column tie, single-column tie). Good manners, passion, and a desire to learn are required for this workshop. For those who have already attended our Class #1 in the past, this course effectively opens new horizons within a session, allowing the integration of many of the principles already learned with the new elements that will be taught.
The course takes place over two days, on Saturday and Sunday, with 6 hours of instruction each day. A one-hour lunch break is scheduled for midday. Changing facilities are available on-site, and it is advisable to arrive at least half an hour early.
Ropes: You will need at least 8 ropes made of NATURAL FIBER, such as jute or hemp, with a length of 7-8 meters and a diameter of 5 or 6mm. For those who don't have ropes, it is possible to borrow them at the time of booking. The use of synthetic ropes of any kind or natural materials that are not sturdy, such as cotton or linen, is not allowed.
Attire: Comfortable/sporty attire is recommended. Especially for those being tied, loose or bulky clothing is discouraged. You can wear what you use during rope sessions. Nudity is not allowed.
Photo/Video: Taking photos during exercise demos is allowed, but recording videos or audio is not permitted. Taking photos of your partner during exercises is allowed, respecting the privacy of other participants. Partners cannot alternate during the workshop's duration.
