Peony Studio is a space dedicated to the art of Japanese bondage, where passion and knowledge meet.
Located in Turin, Italy, it offers workshops and events focused on kinbaku, shibari, and the refined aesthetics of semenawa, inspired by the Kinbaku LuXuria style.
Our 100 sqm venue includes a large main area with up to 16 rigging points and a cozy lounge with a kitchen — perfect for relaxing between sessions.
The idea is simple: to create a safe, welcoming, and professional space where riggers and bottoms can study, practice, and grow — without judgment and with a technical, mindful, and respectful approach.
Whether you are discovering rope bondage in Turin for the first time or wish to deepen your skills with authentic Japanese ropes, Peony Studio welcomes enthusiasts from Italy and abroad.
Workshops are held in Italian, English, and French, making it an international place for connection, exploration, and growth through the language of ropes.
Kurogami & Shiawase
Kinbaku (緊縛) is the Japanese art of rope bondage — a practice where body, breath, intention, and aesthetics meet in a shared language beyond words.
Each knot, each gesture, becomes a form of silent communication between those who tie and those who surrender to the ropes.
At Peony Studio, our approach is inspired by the Kinbaku LuXuria style, where the rope is never just a technical tool but a way to cultivate awareness, connection, and emotional presence.
Through practice, we explore the delicate balance between tension and release, control and trust, beauty and vulnerability.
At the heart of this exploration lies semenawa — the act of tying to evoke sensation, emotion, and meaning.
We guide students to find rhythm, breath, and intention within their rope work, discovering how technique and feeling merge into a single expression.
Peony Studio offers workshops, classes, and dedicated spaces for those who wish to study the art of Japanese bondage in Turin.
Our goal is to create a safe, intimate environment where each session becomes an experience of aesthetic beauty, mutual awareness, and human connection.
Together since 2014, in September 2016, they began dedicating themselves to the study of kinbaku. In November of the same year, they attended their first course led by Riccardo Wildties. This encounter marked the beginning of an ongoing journey, filled with in-depth exploration, inspiration, and continuous research.
In February 2018, Andrea Kurogami became a certified educator in Kinbaku LuXuria, fully embracing the educational values of Wildties.
Throughout the years, Kurogami and Shiawase actively participated in various kinbaku events in Italy and several cities in the world. They engaged as participants in jams, attended advanced courses led by Riccardo as students, and served as performers and educators in dedicated events. In 2019, Kurogami and Shiawase had the honor of tying at the 25th Nawa Naka Kai in Tokyo, alongside Riccardo and Naka-san.
